In December 2020, the agreement was signed with Alight that made the construction of Martin & Servera’s own solar park possible. The construction in Skurup in southern Sweden is now complete and the solar park was put into operation on January 19th. The solar park will produce energy equivalent to 19 GWh, which is half of Martin & Servera’s annual electricity consumption.

– I am proud that the solar park in Skurup is up and running. Right now it is Sweden’s largest solar park – but that’s a title we hope to lose pretty soon. Solar energy is an area that is growing rapidly, says Liv Forhaug, CEO of the Martin & Servera Group.

The fixed-price business model with a Power Purchase Agreement has attracted interest from several other large companies.

– The way electricity prices have developed, this has proven to be a very good deal for us – while confirming our view that it is positive to further strengthen electricity production in southern Sweden. We are happy to share our experience because this is a good deal that also contributes to society, says Liv Forhaug.

The companies in the Martin & Servera Group have an overarching and common sustainability goal – to be climate neutral by 2030.

– We are incredibly pleased to have the opportunity to build and commission Sweden’s largest solar park together with Martin & Servera, a bold customer that takes sustainability seriously. By not only buying green electricity, but also enabling the expansion of new renewable energy, they are inspiring the business community by showing how it can be a good deal both economically and for society at large – a clear win-win, says Harald Överholm, CEO of Alight.

The official inauguration will take place in May on site at the solar park.
